Last night in New York, the International Association of Culinary Professionals held their annual awards, honoring the best in food writing, photography, design, and journalism over the last year. Mo Rocca of the Cooking Channel show Food(ography) hosted the celebration, now in its 34th year.
Winners included Tasting India by Christine Manfield for Cookbook of the Year, megacookbook Modernist Cuisine in the The Design Award and Professional Kitchens category, John Besh's My Family Table for Children, Youth, and Family, and Saveur.com for culinary website.
The Lifetime Achievement award went to Fedele Bauccio, CEO and Cofounder of Bon Appetit Management Company, and a number of books were given Culinary Classics Book awards, a sort of cookbook hall of fame. These included: Craig Claiborne's New York Times Cookbook, James Beard's American Cookery, and The Art of Eating by MFK Fisher.
