In light of Burger King's acquisition of coffee and doughnut purveyor Tim Hortons The NYT's Kim Severson sounds off on the move towards casual in dining today: "The Starbucks generation has turned eating the first meal of the day at a restaurant into habit. Small plates have edged out entrees... Food trucks allow us to eat almost anything anytime anywhere... In this environment, shoving sausage and egg into a waffle that looks like a taco doesn't seem all that revolutionary." [NYT][Photo: Burger King]
