Robbing a restaurant can make a man hungry: Last week, a burglar was caught cooking crab cakes at a cafe he had just broken into. According to DelmarvaNow, police found 41 year-old Stephen L. Quinn "preparing crab cakes" at 1:30 a.m. at Planet X Cafe in Delaware. They had been called to the scene to investigate a "report of a man breaking the glass front door." When Quinn saw the officers, he attempted to run away by breaking through the rear door but was "promptly captured in the back alley behind the restaurant."
Police also caught Quinn with a bottle of stolen alcohol from the cafe. He was arrested and charged with "burglary, theft under $1,500, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct." It's been a strange year for restaurant robberies: One man thanked the employee at the cash register after stealing from a Golden Corral in South Carolina. A restaurant with a 'No Weapons' sign on the front door in North Carolina was robbed at gunpoint in May.
