Here's one way to drink to your health: According to The Local, a hospital in Central France is allowing terminally ill patients to indulge in "medically supervised" wine drinking while they're undergoing hospital treatment. Representatives from the CHU Clermont-Ferrand Hospital say the unorthodox treatment is designed to improve the quality of life for patients. Outsiders ("friends and relatives") are welcome to visit and drink with patients at the bar, and one doctor tells the newspaper that the program hopes "to restore longing, taste, desire, and even pleasure" in those who are ill. The bar currently offers wine, Champagne, and whiskey.
