Foraging in public spaces is not a problem limited to Portland, Oregon: San Francisco news station KTVU reports that many people are illegally foraging inside the city's iconic Golden State Park. According to an eyewitness, four elderly women were recently spotted stuffing wild ginger plants into kitchen garbage bags despite the fact that foraging is a banned activity. Although San Francisco police have not responded to any theft calls from the park, they tell KTVU that "they're ready to make field trips to city parks to catch plant thieves in the wild."
