Here's a video chronicling the specialty coffee scene in Berlin, featuring everyone from roasters to baristas to cafe owners in Germany's largest city. The tour features stops to Bonanza Coffee, Cafe 9, and Tres Cabezas, and a recurring theme suggests many small roasters and coffee fiends see their contributions extending beyond just drinkers in Berlin: "A lot of these coffees could potentially go extinct in the next 40 to 50 years," says Kris Schackman, owner of the fair-trade Five Elephant Roastery. "That's where small roasters can really have a benefit: A small roaster might buy a small quantity and encourage the farmer to grow coffee that maybe is going to save a species." Go, watch:
