Review site Yelp has rewarded 11 "Elite" members with a spot on its brand-new Advisory Council For Really Outstanding National Yelp Members (ACRONYM), gathering them together at a recent (hopefully non-frenzied) summit to discuss "Yelp's power to connect people with great local businesses in small towns." The Elite Advisory Council members were selected from some of Yelp's smaller markets — including Anchorage, Knoxville, and Eugene, Oregon — to help grow Yelp's sometimes-questionable profile in their respective hometowns. As one member says, "It's kind of our responsibility to help spread the Yelp love, especially in a smaller community. I like to take responsibility and find new Yelpers."
The Advisory Council members also introduce themselves in a video posted on Yelp's official blog, so if you happen to be a restaurant owner in Savannah, Georgia or Asheville, North Carolina, do take careful note of the faces below:
