Just like last year, it appears a French news magazine has leaked some of the 2014 Michelin Guide results for France. Le Point reports today that France will gain a new three-star restaurant: L'Assiette Champenoise, the Tinqueux restaurant headed by chef Arnaud Lallement. L'Assiette Champenoise maintained its two Michelin stars last year, having first been awarded two stars in 2005.
Although Le Point does not confirm where this information comes from, it's worth noting that their leak last year was in fact accurate. If today's news is correct, Lallement will be joining the 27 other three star restaurants in France. This means Japan and France will potentially be tied in the number of three-star restaurants: Tokyo has 14 three-stars, and Western Japan has 14. The Hokkaido guide has not been released yet though. The Michelin Guide to France is expected to drop on February 24.
