World-saving British chef Jamie Oliver has set his sights North: According to a press release, the chef is planning to open his first restaurant in the Nordic region. Oliver will open a location of his international chain Jamie's Italian in the city center of Stockholm, Sweden in Fall 2014. Oliver is quoted in the release saying the Stockholm restaurant will be "epic." Partnering with Scandic hotels on the opening, Oliver also has plans for Jamie's Italian to "expand further into the Nordic region."
Oliver has been planning a massive international expansion for Jamie's Italian for quite some time. Last Summer, he announced plans to bring his slamming, scrummy dishes to Brazil, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. Oliver has previously announced plans to expand Jamie's Italian to the US, Turkey, Russia, and Singapore. So much for his recently revealed desire to "step out of the limelight" and focus on "mentoring new talent."
