Here's Blue Bottle Coffee founder James Freeman telling Fox Business the story of his company and how he came to be a coffee expert. Described by the interviewer as someone who "was into high quality joe way before it was cool," Freeman explains that Blue Bottle (which currently has locations in San Francisco, New York, and soon in LA) has always just had the goal "to make coffee delicious," and that "it didn't occur to [him]" to have a strategy for competing against entrenched coffee chains like Starbucks. Freeman also touches on his own personal journey from musician to coffee roaster and boss and, when asked, says the secret to success "is to not feel like you're particularly successful." Of his initial attraction to coffee, Freeman tells a story of falling in love with the scent of coffee as a young child. Go, watch:
