For this weekend's anticipated playoff game against the New Orleans Saints, Seattle's CenturyLink Field is offering a stunt burger named for running back Marshawn "Beast Mode" Lynch. The "Beast Burger" features two cheese-topped patties, double bacon, double ham, onion rings, and garlic aioli "for a little kick," CenturyLink's executive chef Seis Kamimura told KOMO News. The burger also comes with an unorthodox side dish: fries and a bag of Skittles, an homage to one of Lynch's favorite candies (Lynch even has custom Nike cleats bedecked in a Skittles pattern).
Professional NFL-ers often serve as inspiration for chefs: Restaurants in Chicago and Houston poked fun at local quarterbacks with recent menu items, and back in 2012, NYC's Carnegie Deli welcomed quarterback Tim Tebow with a 3.5-pound "Jetbow" sandwich. Seattle's "Beast Burger" will be on sale at CenturyLink's Gridiron Grill and 12th Man Grill concession stands during the game, and be warned: It's "estimated to contain 1,700 calories."
