Locu, the business data provider/menu database startup, has used their resources to examine whether or not hipsters really drink Pabst Blue Ribbon. Locu tracked venues that serve Bud Light and/or PBR in "Hipster Meccas" like Williamsburg, Brooklyn, San Francisco's Mission District, and Boston's Inman Square and Allston. Locu's data maps suggest that—and this is really something— in these three cities Bud Light is the more commonly served beer city-wide and PBR generally does well in areas populated by hipsters and students. The study boldly concludes that PBR might appeal because it's cheap.
