Sorry, world, but this horse meat scandal just got so much worse with the news that Taco Bell has had to pull ground beef from its UK outlets. Yes, a spokesman tells CNN that Taco Bell's voluntary testing revealed "ingredients supplied to us from one supplier in Europe tested positive for horse meat." Please note that this is only at the company's three locations in the UK — two in Essex and one in Manchester — and there's reportedly "no link in terms of products to Taco Bell in the United States."
That said, Taco Bell has just gone and taken beef off the menu in the UK for now, and promises not to serve it again until sure that the supply is certified non-horse-filled. Though Britain's Food Standards Agency says that more than 99 percent of its latest tests reveal no horse DNA (at or above a 1 percent level), BBC News points out that Taco Bell's meat was not the only one discovered with horse in it this time around: Birds Eye's Traditional Spaghetti Bolognese and Beef Lasagne and Brakes' Spicy Beef Skewer are also among the offenders. Stay strong, Britain.
