Here is a list of the twenty-one hottest pizzerias across the Eater universe. This list comes nearly nine months after the last national pizza heatmap. Among the latest crop of newish pizzerias is an ode to Chicago pizza from master SF pizzaiolo Tony Gemignani (Capo's), two entries from Philly's recent pizza boom (Pizza Brain and Gennaro's), an instantly popular opening in San Diego with a serious Neapolitan pedigree (Buona Forchetta), an inventive and well-reviewed option in Brooklyn's Clinton Hill neighborhood (Speedy Romeo), a pizza project from Mineapolis chef and Beard Award-winner Isaac Becker (Burch), a Detroit-style pizza truck in Austin (Via 313), and a successful venture from two brothers that used to be involved with Atlanta's excellent Antico Pizzeria (Ammazza).
Many thanks to the Eater city editors for their nominations. And please remember, these are ordered geographically and not by any other ranking. To the map:
Tried any of the places on the list or feel there are any glaring omissions? You know what to do.
