Travel and expense management firm Certify has released a study that shows that employees across the U.S. eat mostly at outposts of five establishments. They are — in order of descending popularity — Starbucks, McDonald's, Subway, Panera Bread, and Burger King. The report concludes that "employee spending on travel and entertainment rose just over one percent in the past year." And with average check amounts like the $7.54 people expense at Starbucks, that money's probably not being spent on clients but rather traveling employees.
