Groupon has postponed its daily deal service for the "immediate future" in parts of the Northeast in wake of Hurricane Sandy, reports Reuters. This comes a day after the site drew criticism from Ryan Sutton of the Bad Deal for running a deal for pitch-black New York City restaurant Dans le Noir immediately after the hurricane. Wrote Sutton, "With massive power outages throughout the region, suffice it to say we've had enough darkness in NYC." Groupon adds that merchants can contact them if they really want to run offers right now. Most likely the businesses would just like the power switched back on? Just a guess.
