Big-box clubby Asian restaurant pioneer TAO — which has locations in New York and Las Vegas — is suing a new family-owned restaurant in Brunswick, Maine for using the name Tao for their 52-seat business. According to the Maine restaurateur, "the 'tao' in Tao Restaurant means 'peach' and is based on a Chinese fable... The 'tao' that draws celebrities in New York and Las Vegas is a different Chinese character." [Press Herald via Eater Maine]
