Season three of Treme premiered last night, and the Anthony Bourdain-written chef scenes continued with Janette Desautel (Kim Dickens) still working at chef David Chang's NYC restaurant Lucky Peach, the fictionalized hybrid of Momofuku Ko and Ssäm Bar. Guess that Desautel's potential New Orleans restaurant hinted at in the end of season two didn't work out?
In the clips below, there's a mysterious diner with a "pretty good serial killer vibe" who's a potential restaurant investor looking to maybe poach Desautel. Chang then invites Desautel to a special dinner, a "chef thing," which turns out to be a the epic meal previewed last week with fictional chef Enrico Brulard (Victor Slezak) and real-life chefs Jonathan Waxman, David Chang, Alfred Portale, Tom Colicchio, Eric Ripert, and Wylie Dufresne.
Finally, back at Lucky Peach, Desautel worries about the mystery man: "What if he's a perv? Or worse, what if he's a food blogger?" To the backdrop of Sonic Youth, she tells him, "Not interested. Sorry."
