When Momofuku Noodle Bar opened in its three-level glass cube of a building on Wednesday morning, the lines seemed pretty manageable for a project that had inspired epic levels of anticipation in Canada. Now, though, that seems to have been corrected: Behold what appears to be a good old-fashioned twisting-around-the-block line outside of Momofuku Noodle Bar today, as tweeted by David Chang himself. He writes, "what the hell is happening here @momofuku toronto? surreal."
In other Momofuku Toronto expansion news, the empire has also revealed logos — "the Japanese equivalent of family crests" — for all four of the concepts opening in the space next to the Shangri-La Hotel. These logos each say a little something about the concepts themselves: daish? will be "big and small," while sh?t? will be a mere 22 seats within the daish? dining room. Meanwhile nikai refers to the second floor and will be the bar and lounge.
As previously mentioned, sh?t? is slated to open tomorrow, while the other two concepts still have yet to reveal their opening dates.
