PaidContent takes a look at the Publishers Information Bureau figures for the second quarter, and determines that while food magazines seem to be "trending downward," "the party for most titles probably isn't over."
One bright spot: Food Network Magazine just released their biggest issue ever, with 115.18 ad pages.
For comparison's sake: the latest issue of Saveur has a TOTAL 136 pages; Bon Appétit has a TOTAL 116 pages; and Food & Wine has a TOTAL 108 pages. Get on it, sales teams.
Update 07/19/2011: The referenced issue of Food Network Magazine was a double issue (July/August), while Food & Wine and Bon Appétit were single issues. Comparing numbers on single- vs double-issues is like comparing apples to oranges.
