Hey, what's life like on the Carnival Splendor, the luxury cruise ship with 4,500 people on board that's been stranded in the Pacific for three days? Toilets are overflowing, the lights don't work, and the air conditioning is broken. Probably not much fun? It's almost like the Chilean mine! Except it's not underground and they have Spam and Pop-Tarts and swimming pools.
Tugboats are slowly pulling the disabled cruise ship back to California (due today), but in the meantime, one of the passengers filed a report: "You stand in line for two hours just to get your food because everybody goes to the same place to pick up their food. Then once you get your food, you look for something to do. People are playing cards. People are standing around, just kind of talking. They're getting to socialize." Heroes, we salute you.
