R&L Update: CB2 Full Board Approves Liquor License

A little silver lining for the owners of R&L Restaurant: last night the full community board 2 approved their request for a liquor license, meaning they should have no troubles when their application goes before the SLA. We still hear it's a ghost town over there, but this could help business pick up.

Most of the other big CB2 agenda items have been tabled until August. However one surprising rejection was that of David Rabin's 14 Bar, which got support in the committee meeting earlier in the month but was shut down by the full board. He will have to re-apply after obtaining a "letter of no objection and a public assembly permit." Update: Contrary to what a CB2 rep told us this morning, they now tell us that 14 Bar is cleared to go before the SLA as long as they get the above documents. They will not have to re-apply with the community.
