TRIBECA— Yesterday Grub Street broke the news that Puffy's Tavern in Tribeca is now serving the famous Alidoro sandwiches. As Alidoro's first ever offshoot, this is big news for Tribeca workers. Eater HQ ordered the first ever delivery order from the tavern and the verdict is in: the sandwiches are just as good as the originals, even the sacrilegious Americano with mayo. And as a special bonus, we get a free soda, or beer, with our next order. [EaterWire]

EAST VILLAGE— China 1 Antique Restaurant and Lounge a.k.a. China 1 a.k.a. one of those crowded looking restaurants on lower Avenue B is getting a new chef, a new menu, and "a new focus." The new chef worked at Asia de Cuba and was a personal chef to, oh la la, the Rockefeller family. From the press release: "Executive Chef Malik Fall brings his French culinary background to the Chinese antique-filled restaurant—blending Pacific Rim and Asian flavors with a decidedly French accent and influence." WILLIAMSBURG— The L Magazine has announced they are throwing their First Annual Block Party in the McCarren Park Pool on Tuesday July 8th. They'll have music, beer, a Taste of Williamsburg from restaurants including Diner, Marlowe & Sons, and Fette Sau, and a screening of Wet Hot American Summer, introduced by Michael Showalter himself. THE BRONX— Eating in Translation reports that favorite Bronx barbecue spot Mo Gridder's is expanding: "Mo Gridder's BBQ has announced a second outpost, in the Belmont section of the Bronx, a few steps from Arthur Avenue at 632 East 186th St. At the original Hunt's Point pitstop, in the parking lot of an auto center, $34.95 gets you an oil change and a checkup for your car, and a ribs platter for you. Expect good chow, but not quite the same full service, at the new location — it's the former home of Roberto's, which now dishes family-style Italian standards at No. 603." [EIT via Gothamist]
