The Shutter: Sparky's Doesn't Survive DOH'ing
Wednesday, May 7, 2008

Noho: Almost a month ago, the ominous yellow sticker appeared on the small triangle of a space that is Sparky's on Lafayette south of Bleecker. The owners posted a note below the sticker saying they were closed due to a "mistake in permit", not health violations. Well, it looks like they never got that permit because the place is being gutted and is back on the market. Writes a tipster: "They're gutting it and all the chairs are pushed to one side. I'm guessing that they had a permitting problem operating the large grill in there - but that's unfounded. And there's the paper white sign with a 'for rent and a phone #' on the Lafayette side." Hate to see that. Strangely the "just a permit problem" sign is still up. Anyone interested in a 36 sq. ft. triangular restaurant space?
