RIP

A moment for Edward James Keller, father of one Thomas Keller, who died this past Monday at 86: "Mr. Keller was a fixture in the small Napa Valley town for the past couple of years, often holding court at his son's Bouchon Bakery, greeting locals and tourists alike...His steely military discipline had a big impact on Thomas Keller, whose French Laundry in Yountville and Per Se in New York City are among the most critically acclaimed restaurants in the world. "His dad played a significant role in shaping Thomas' work ethic," said restaurant spokeswoman Kristine Keefer." [SF Chronicle]
