1) West Village: Shutterwood special Cabrito, the new restaurant going into the former BarFry space is reported to open this week by NYMag. Here’s the scoop: “There are tongue tacos, cuitlacoche huaraches, and Mexican sandwiches called cemitas, plus red-chile-braised beef ribs and carnitas Uruapan, or pork confit"; Status: Not open. Calls still go to BarFry's answering machine. 50 Carmine Street; 212-929-5050. [NYM]

2) Prospect Heights: NYMag also checks in on the opening of Abigail Café & Wine Bar, from the owners of Camaje. Here’s the deets: “with an all-day menu extending from morning coffee and muffins to lunch and dinner small plates like asparagus-and-early-garlic soup, and panini filled with blue cheese, leeks, and pear.” Status: Not Open. Opening on Friday. 807 Classon Ave, Prospect Heights; 718-399-3200. [NYM]

3) East Village: Last week we brought word of another shutterwood case, the transformation of AmericanGrill/Go! Go! Curry into Song 7.2. A tipster revealed the following: “Tucked into the foyer was this sign (above). Given the awkward phrasing of the sign ("Asian Cuisine Restaurant"?),and the speed at which the transformation seems to be taking place, I suspect it's under the same management. Maybe they'll serve pirogis and frites!” Status: Not open. Opening tomorrow. 117 2nd Avenue, 212-777-1286. [Eater Inbox]
