UNION SQUARE— A paranoid tipster writes in with some news on the embattled restaurant planned for the Union Square Pavilion: "You didn't hear it from me. I have a very good friend who works at the Parks department. Danny Meyer is a definite lock for the Union Square restaurant and John Reed, former CEO of Citibank is the "'anonymous donor' of 5 million. He and Meyer will partner in the new non Shake Shack venture." That is funny because Meyer signed an affidavit denying he would bid on the concession. Very curious indeed. UPDATE: The official statement from USHG: “Danny Meyer has in fact signed an affidavit indicating that he is not the project’s anonymous donor, and furthermore, that he is not bidding for the concession. HARLEM— Uptown Flavor brings news of the new club El Morocco, set to open next month: "The new El Morocco has come to fill the void left behind by Studio 84 and at the same time create a new legacy of a vibrant nightspot.
