The event is typically industry-only and includes blind tastings and competitions between staffs of some of the city's biggest restaurants including Alain Ducasse's establishments, Craft, Tribeca Grill, Annisa, and more. The events take place from 1-4 p.m. and begin in the Chelsea Market and continue through the rest of MePa. [EaterWire]

MIDTOWN WEST— And speaking of big events, the New York Taste of the Nation is coming up on May 14, and tickets are on sale now. Honorary Chairs include David Burke, Jeffrey Chodrow, Dana Cowin, Danny Meyer, Drew Nieporent and Terry Zarikian, and proceeds benefit City Harvest and Food Bank of NYC along with numerous other charities. PARK SLOPE—The news about the chef change at Park Slope's Montauk Club are now verified via a letter sent out from the private club to its members: "Last evening Aaron Herman, the club's manager, engaged the services of a new chef, Alexis Tanen. Alexis comes to us highly recommended. She recently worked at Prune, a highly regarded restaurant in Manhattan and will begin with us next week." [EaterWire]
