The Shutter: Russo's Pizzeria

Some pretty strong evidence has come in over the wire suggesting that Russo's Pizzeria on Avenue B, which opened just shy of a year ago on Avenue B and Third St, is shuttered. Funny, we figured Solo Pizza, the slice joint directly across the street that opened at exactly the same time, would be the first to go. From the tipline: "Russo's Brick Oven Pizza on Ave B may be closed. I haven't seen it open in over a week. It wasn't open last weekend. This is a bummer because the pizza and calamari was good." A correspondent on the scene notes it is indeed closed with neither explanatory signage nor a working phone. Here we should note that after Cantina, this is the second restaurant to close on the block in the last week. You're next Carnevale.
