The Shutter: Massif Central

West Village: A tipster writes in with news on Bleecker Street restaurant Massif Central: "Village French bistro Massif Central (Bleecker near Christopher) was shuttered. One witness said the police shut it down, another said it was a DOH shuttering. Serving decent food, but never crowded and never chowhounded, the owners probably had amassed considerable debt." A stop by reveals neither ominous DOH signs nor orange 'Seizure' signs from the Dept. of Tax and Finance. Instead, this looks more to be a landlord dispute where the City Marshall had to intervene. Regardless, place is doneski, perhaps for good.
