The Shutter: Osteria Del Sole Seized

An tipster emails and a photo from an Eater correspondent confirms, the West Village's Osteria Del Sole has been seized: "Was walking home on Saturday when passed by Osteria del Sole on the corner of W. 4th and Perry. Blatant orange signs in the window with the word "SEIZED" in big letters. Apparently the restaurant was shut down for non-payment of back taxes. One has to wonder if it's all related to the obscene rents in this neighborhood. Always enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly, welcoming vibe at this fun neighborhood jaunt. Hopefully they'll be able to weather the storm and reopen, but it doesn't look promising...P.S. - with the old Avalon space next door to OdeS, and the former laundromat two doors down from that still vacant, that makes almost that entire side of the block of W. 4th empty storefront.
