Hot dog and burger spot and Red Hook staple Schnäck is shuttering, according to recent intel from Cutlets: "We hear through the grapevine that the proximate cause of the closing is a lost lease, but having seen ever-thinning crowds over the past year, we are more likely to believe that the poor location and awful service softened the victim up for the final blow." This news does not bode well for fast food food lovers in the nabe, who are already dealing with the uncertain future of the Redhook Ballfields vendors. [Cutlets]
