Plywood Special: Cafe Society

The beauty you see before you is the yet to open Cafe Society, located in the old Steak Frites space off Union Square. Note the large silver globe light, the raw ceiling, the back-lit mirrors. And of course there's the lime green/red-orange color palette. It looks like there is still a lot of work to be done, so perhaps we'll give owner Andrew Silverman, who also owns Chat 'n Chew and Steak Frites (newly relocated to Varick St.), the benefit of the doubt that the place won't look truly terrible, or as similar to Mars 2112, by opening night. Make it work Andy.
