Winter Vacation Update: Mermaid Inn Returns 1/8, 'inoteca 1/14
Monday, January 7, 2008

The winter holiday is a time for change and renewal, of course. Updates, now, on two restaurants putting the finishing touches on new looks for 2008.

1) Danny Abrams' 2nd Avenue seafood shack Mermaid Inn (downtown) will reopen tomorrow with, per the above signage, posted at the restaurant, a 'great new look and fantastic winter menu.' We'll have the menu and the Kalina for you shortly.

2) David Massoni, GM of Lower East Side fixture 'inoteca drops up a line about their winter facelift: "Every couple of years a busy restaurant needs to shutdown for a few days of deep cleaning and repairs. The last time we closed to clean up the restaurant Eater put up a posting off of a sign we had on the front door, this time we thought we'd give you a heads up. We are sprucing up the restaurant and giving it a bit of a facelift. We will be reopening for lunch service at our regular time of 12 noon on Monday January 14th."
