Resy Scalpers
Wednesday, January 9, 2008

The two founders of TableXchange, the friendlier, less scalpy Resy broker, met with the Meetup crowd at their monthly Tech Meetup. It went, eh, just ok. From our man who was there: "Resy scalper service that eh, idea seems totally unworkable to me -- Scott [Heiferman] asked the crowd to raise their hand if a) they thought they were brilliant or b) thought they were crazy. It was about equal! They framed it as a way for busy ibankers to get great reservations when they learn at the last minute their boss won't keep them in their cage on a Friday night. Bizarre." And, bonus, from a Meetup commenter in attendance: "Restaurant reservation guy was EVIL, and I was surprised not more people were willing to say so." [EaterWire Inbox; Meetup]
