Ever since Dave Chang and his boys learned how to stop worrying and love the Ssäm, the people have come in droves to their East Village hotspot—from open until close, which was for a time at 2 AM. But with the summer slow came reduced hours and closure at the far too civilized hour of midnight. Now, The Chang sends word that "summer is over," and late night at Ssäm is back. Starting this Thursday, 9/27, the East Village temple of Korean culinary circus tricks will be open until 2 AM every night, offering their full menu, the most current of which we bring you above and below. (Bonus: the price of the ribeye, one of the unsung heroes of this menu, has been price slashed from $110 to $100.) Summer is over, indeed; as are your early morning meetings.

For my money, Ssam Bar is the best restaurant in NYC. Shill or not, where else can you get fatty, chewy lamb belly while your vegetarian wife is asleep?
the other weekend i had the craziest 24 hour buf, and they only thing i had really ate the night before was at momofuku. at the time, i doubted the food there was the cause (i was also heavily drinking that night), but if i'm not the only one who got sick...
no, i'm not kidding, i was pretty sick and i know it was the pork. you know, when someone gets fod poisoning their body tells them what it was and when i thought about the pork i felt sicker. i'm not sure if those steam tables are holding the proper temperatures. also, when i was leaving that restaurant after my meal i noticed workers bringing in hotel pans covered in foil from a car and down to the side stairs to the basement. i don't know if it was food for a special event or they are cooking some food off premises and then taking it in. it could of been just that day, i'm not sure. but, i'm very sure that food made`me ill. i'll never go back. i don't think there's nothing to write home about when it comes to the food anyway. and the pork buns,,,,,, just go south a little way to a place called chinatown, they know and do buns right,, and for less.
